Product Description
Mirogabalin is a medicine used mainly to treat neuropathic pain, including diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain (DPNP), postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), and peripheral neuropathic pain (PNP).
It works by selectively binding to the α2δ subunits of voltage-gated calcium channels, reducing excessive neurotransmitter release and decreasing nerve hyperexcitability.
Usual adult dose: Initially 5 mg twice daily, with gradual dose increases according to the patient's condition. Dose adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment.
Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, edema (swelling), and weight gain. It may also cause blurred or double vision. Patients should avoid driving, operating machinery, and alcohol because of possible dizziness and sedation.
Mirogabalin should be used cautiously during pregnancy and breastfeeding and in patients with kidney or liver problems. It can interact with medicines such as cimetidine, probenecid, and lorazepam.
Storage: Store below 30°C, in a dry place, away from light and moisture, and keep out of children's reach.
Important: Mirogabalin should be taken only according to a registered physician's advice.
