Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd.Product Description
Indications: Algicid DX is indicated for the relief and treatment of gastric reflux, heartburn, indigestion, and flatulence associated with gastric reflux. It is also effective in managing heartburn during pregnancy and all forms of epigastric and retrosternal discomfort caused by gastric reflux.
Pharmacology: Algicid DX combines two antacids, Calcium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarbonate, with Sodium Alginate. It works by neutralizing excess stomach acid to relieve pain and discomfort while forming a protective gel-like barrier over stomach contents to reduce acid reflux and soothe burning sensations in the chest. Upon contact with gastric acid, Sodium Alginate forms an Alginic Acid gel raft with near-neutral pH that floats on top of stomach contents, helping prevent gastroesophageal reflux for up to 4 hours. This raft also protects the esophagus from acid, bile, and pepsin exposure. Calcium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarbonate provide rapid acid neutralization for quick symptom relief.
