Cildip® (Cilnidipine)
Description:
Cilnidipine is a 4th generation calcium channel blocker with dual L- and N-type activity. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing vascular smooth muscle and reducing sympathetic overactivity.
Indication:
Used for the treatment of hypertension.
Dosage:
Recommended adult dose: 5–10 mg once daily; may be increased up to 20 mg/day if required.
Contraindications:
Not advised in cardiogenic shock, recent myocardial infarction, unstable angina, or severe aortic stenosis.
Side Effects:
May cause dizziness, flushing, headache, hypotension, palpitations, or mild GI disturbances.
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with hypotension, heart failure, or poor cardiac reserve. Avoid sudden withdrawal.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Safety not fully established; use only if clearly needed. Nursing mothers should consult a physician.
Storage:
Keep below 25°C, protected from light, out of reach of children.
